As a Los Angeles Wedding Planner and Wedding Makeup Artist I like to consult with my brides prior to the day of her wedding and get an full understanding on what makeup look she wishes to accomplish on the day of her actual wedding. At the time of my brides consultation I like to ask for a makeup trial as well, so I can discuss her current skincare and makeup routines to see what my clients face is used to wearing on a daily basis and then customize a makeup application specifically for her skin tone and skin type.
This will help the bride feel most comfortable with her makeup on her wedding and know how to easily touch up if makeup artist isn’t around.
It’s important to make sure my clients have an understanding on how different makeup can feel from everyday makeup to HD makeup which is designed for high definition productions like professional wedding photos and videos.
The consultation and or makeup trial gives you and the makeup client an opportunity to establish a mini relationship making the day of your wedding a breeze for makeup.
When I first meet with my brides on the day or morning of their wedding, I ask them to try and rest as much as possible the night before, maybe wear a soothing mask and be ready with a clean face before we start makeup. Below are photos of my bride with her skin prepped, brows groomed and evened out skin tones with color correction, foundation and concealers. I will list skin prep and face makeup products used below.
Skin Prep begins with spritz of Mario Badescu Facial Spray with cucumber and Green Tea. Products listed in ordered used.
Skin Hydration with Farsali Rose Gold Elixir
Skin Moisturizer by L’oreal Collagen Moisture Filler/ Combleur Hydratant
Skin Makeup Primer by Veil Cosmetics Sunset Light Primer Serum
Allow 2 minutes between applications to allow the skin to really absorb the product and keep the skin hydrated for a long day of long wear makeup.
For the face after the skin has been prepped I like to even out the brides skin tones with color correcting techniques, colorless setting powders, makeup foundations, little to no colored setting powders and the brows. After the brows I work on highlight and contour.
Colorless Setting Powder
Brow Powder Palette
Eye shadow primer
Eye shadow in Vanilla to set lid
Below are photos of the products used in the order I apply the face makeup to even out the brides skin tone.
